Dan Brown has written a
spectacularly fraudulent, factually laughable, deceptive and insensitive book that deliberately
attempts to undermine the Christian faith at its roots. It takes small
grains of truth (or information that sounds like it could be
truthful) and goes off on totally ridiculous, fictional tangents in an apparent attempt
to undermine the Christian faith, and directly attack Catholicism in
particular.
The best and most convincing lies
are told with a grain of truth, things that seem like they could make
rational sense. With 20 million books sold to date and a blockbuster
(although critically maligned) movie, Dan Brown is clearly a master of manipulation, deception
and lies (please note that though the Da Vinci Code is listed as
fiction, Dan Brown claims in his forward to the book and numerous interviews
that the information related to the entire background message of the story
are completely "factual").
For those with even
minimal
historical knowledge regarding the topics discussed, the book shows
laughable historical inaccuracies and grotesque deception in its overt attack on the roots of
Christianity. When held up to even the most modest scrutiny, The DaVinci
Code holds as much credibility as “A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey,
another recent blockbuster fictional work that was passed off as factual and
exposed as a fraud.
There are many books and websites
out there discussing precisely WHY the DaVinci Code is anti-Christian and
exposes its many fabrications, deceptions and outright lies.
A few of these
arguments that expose the Da Vinci Code fraud can be found HERE. The
bottom line, for those that do not know, the Davinci Code attempts to
challenge the divinity of Jesus Christ—the cornerstone of the Christian
faith and over 2 Billion faithful worldwide. The point of this website
is to focus direct action where it will do the most good. Fighting back
against those that would do your faith harm.
Boycotting the Da Vinci Code
book and movie (in our opinion) should be a given. You can suppress your
curiosity of “I want to see what all the controversy is about” by simply
knowing that it is just a semi-interesting work of fiction that is packed
with deception about your faith. And every dollar you spend on it simply
makes you poorer (in your wallet and spirit) and encourages “them” to make
hundreds other ones just like it designed to attack and abuse your most
cherished beliefs. If you would like to read the deceptions for
yourself, just borrow the book from the library or a friend. Dan Brown
doesn’t deserve any additional money from Christians.
Here is
the most EFFECTIVE solution to this problem. Abuse SONY Corporation for
abusing Christianity. Boycott their products and dump their stock.
More effectively than attacking
the motion picture and the makers of it (because that will accomplish
nothing in Hollywood), we believe the entity that needs to hear from the
Christian community is SONY Corporation.
Since SONY’s entire
goal was to make huge sums of money from selling tickets to an
anti-Christian movie, Christians should refrain from financially supporting
their other money making endeavors.
If the DaVinci Code bothers you
as a Christian, STOP BUYING SONY PRODUCTS AND WRITE THEM A LETTER TELLING
THEM WHY. If all Christians stopped buying SONY products they would be out
of business by the end of the year.
SPECIFIC ACTION
PLAN SUGGESTIONS:
1.
If you own SONY stock, SELL IT, or bring this issue up at the next
stockholder’s meeting. There are many wonderful consumer product companies
out there that aren’t actively attacking your faith. If you own SONY
stock, you are a part owner of the company. Use that power to make a
difference. Make a motion to vote out the entire existing board of
directors that supported the decision to attack your faith.
2.
If you are planning on making a major electronics purchase like a big
screen TV, computer or audio equipment, simply switch your purchase to
another brand. There are plenty of outstanding quality brands out
there, that DON’T abuse Christianity for money. Avoiding the purchase of
just one SONY big screen TV negates the profit of literally hundreds of
DaVinci Code movie tickets.
3.
If you are planning to buy the new Playstation 3 , buy
the Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii instead. If you are considering the purchase of a SONY PSP
handheld, buy the Nintendo DS instead. Also, don't buy SONY music. Buy from another record label.
Oh, don't forget about SONY Vaio laptop and desktop computers. Dell and
Toshiba are much better choices. These are all big ticket items and will
hurt SONY in the only place a big corporation without a soul cares about...in
the wallet.
4.
Suggest to all of your friends, relatives, church members, your pastor
and/or
your priest to do one or all of the above. If you are a minister, make
an announcement in your church of what SONY and the Davinci Code are doing
to spread deception about your faith.
Just DO SOMETHING.
Christianity only gets abused when Christians do nothing. Money is the
only thing they understand, so an uncompromising financial message
needs to be sent to big corporations that whenever they abuse or support the
abuse of Christians, they will pay a very dear price.
We know that Hollywood clearly
doesn’t respect or honor Christianity, and in fact, goes out of its way to
abuse and mock Christians (like United Artist’s 2004 Saved!). They have
turned a deaf ear to Christians for decades, and as a consequence, have
taken a huge financial hit at the box office the last several years.
Christian Americans have voted “no more” to Hollywood abuse.
Are Christians going to take
this same garbage and abuse from a mediocre consumer electronics/"entertainment" company? Just as with
entertainment choice, we have a lot of purchase options regarding the
consumer products category, and I suggest we start using them.
Do you think SONY is a good
company to buy your electronics from? Do you really feel good about
financially supporting a company enriching itself by overtly supporting an
attack on your Christian faith? No thanks. I’ll buy a Samsung or RCA.
It is so easy to buy from their competitors, we just need to take simple
action and do it.
Send SONY and ALL
big corporations a message that they can exercise their 1st
Amendment right to abuse Christianity if they so choose, but they will pay
dearly for it.
